How To Catch Strands

This photo tutorial is in support of the Blanquefort Shawl designed by Mathieu Arnold for Issue 4 | Texture.

Before you begin the Catch Strands technique your work should look like the image below, with long strands of the yellow and black in the body of the fabric:

Step 1: Pass the right needle under the two strands of yarn in front.

Step 2: Knit into the next stitch on the left needle, leaving it on the needle.

Step 3: Bring the new stitch under the two long strands of yarn you picked up.

Step 4: Slide the stitch off the left needle.
